Types of gifts given to Phoenix AKARAMA Foundation
The Phoenix AKARAMA Foundation depends on generous gifts from the community and friends to provide financial aid for local student’s educational needs, community service programs and other special needs. Gifts may be made in the form of cash, securities, trusts, annuities, life insurance and corporate or other foundation grants. The Foundation accepts contributions by Visa and MasterCard.

Annual Giving

Planned Giving
If you wish to make a gift to the Foundation, you can designate a planned gift to the Foundation. Upon doing so, they become member of the Foundation’s Heritage Club. To download the Heritage Club form, _____. Planned gifts to the Foundation may take the following forms:
- Bequests – The most popular form of planned giving is a specific bequest made through a will or an estate plan. A bequest may be made to a beneficiary, such as the Phoenix AKARAMA Foundation, in a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the estate or as a residual gift.
- Sample bequest wording may read as follows: “I hereby give, devise and bequeath to the Phoenix AKARAMA Foundation, an Arizona non-profit located in Phoenix, Arizona, (the sum of $____, or _____ percent of my estate, or the remainder of my estate when other bequests have been paid, or the following described property: ______).”
- Life Insurance – A gift to the Phoenix AKARAMA Foundation may be made by naming the Foundation as the irrevocable beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
- Charitable Gift Annuities – This enables the donor to make a gift of cash or other assets to the foundation and receive income, capital gain, and estate tax benefits. The donor establishes an annuity agreement gift with the foundation and retains the right to receive life income payments from the gift. Upon the donor’s death, the foundation may use the remaining principal for charitable purposes.
- Charitable Remainder Trusts – A charitable remainder trust offers income capital gain and estate tax benefits to the donor while creating a generous gift for the Foundation. Upon the donor’s death, the foundation receives the principal, or “remainder,” of the trust for use in charitable purposes.
- Memorial and tributes – Theses gifts made be made to the foundation in memory or of in honor of a Departed family member or friend.
